My laptop was in shut-down mode but was connected to the AC supply. When I reached home, I wiped it with a towel and tried to turn it on. The power light would come on but the system wouldn;t turn on. I left it to dry the entire night. Next morning I kept it under the sunlight for a couple of hours.

Again tried turning on. This time it would turn on but keybord wouldn't work. So I left Multicolored vertical bands means that the contacts on LCD ribbon cables are still shorting because of liquid or oxide building in consequence of liquid damage. Also keyboard is probably not working for same reason. S-video output My latitude c610 has what appears to be a s-video output.

While picture quality is only o.k. When I use the s-video, I am troubled that it appears the s-video signal stops when I close my laptop lid.

I have set the power setting to 'do nothing' when the laptop is closed. How can I get the s-video to keep outputting? Hi 015 012 015 012Normally, you can use the Fn+F8 keyboard shortcut to switch the video image to the display only, the display and 015 012external monitor simultaneously, or the external monitor only. Unfortunately, th. Computer 'turns on' i hear four to five beeps, but the monitor gets no signal. A friend gave me the computer, only once did i see it boot up fully but it froze up so i had to restart it and it wont work. Everytime i try i get the same thing four or five beeps and monitor says no signal.

Without knowing the exact frequency/length of the beeps my first guess would be a bad stick of ram or a bad video card. If there is more than one stick of ram in the computer try it with one of the sticks pulled, pulling each stick until it does boo.
